Light the Light of Hope! Higashimatsushima’s “Paradise”
This is Director Tōru Ise, ariTV.
We visited a Western restaurant beloved for 60 years
near the JSDF airbase in Higashimatsushima.
After last year’s tsunami,
it was the first business in the Yamoto shopping area to have the lights back on.
In the total darkness of those nights just after the disaster,
for the townspeople the light was a symbol of hope.
