Touhoku's recovery schedule is a website created to send the message that Touhoku is great, to Japan and the rest of the world.We want to add the story of Touhoku's recovery to Tohoku's recovery calendar, and by doing so, we want to show our support to people who are moving forward, and for「what's next」for Touhoku.

WCDRR participants visited the disaster-affected area: an elementary school in coastal area and the tsunami evacuation tower

Many experts gather from all over the world in Sendai, the city of disaster risk reduction and revival, where the UN WCDRR took place.

Executive committee of the conference planed a variety of “study tours” for the conference participants so that they can learn the city’s disaster risk reduction measures.

Among them, we joined “Multiple Defense Measures against Tsunami: Lessons Learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake.”

The first destination was Arahama Elementary School, which was devastated by tsunami.

Here, a lot of people evacuated to the roof while tsunami swallows the building.
