Flashing Hanyū Smile!

Do you know that Sendai is the origin of figure skating in Japan? Since the Meiji era (1868-1912), people have engaged in the sport.
This year, another Winter Olympics gold medalist was born from Sendai. Yudzuru Hanyū has been spotlighted since he won the gold medal in men’s figure skating at the Sochi Olympics.
Having overcome the 2011′s catastrophic disaster, Mr. Hanyū accomplished the great achievement and has kept inspiring people in Tōhoku.
On 26th, a parade honoring his achievement was held, and some 92,000 gathered to celebrate.
Mr. Hanyū responded to cheering fans with nice smile. He promised to keep going with Tōhoku, and his promise encourage us further.
