Drink! Eat! Ginza, Tōkyō’s Recovery Support Bar!
This is Takano from ariTV.
As the name suggests, it’s a tavern that donates to Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima, the three prefectures worst hit by the Great Tōhoku Earthquake and Tsunami.
The system is simple.
All profits gained are sent as donations.
A Recovery Support Bar opened in Sendai, too, from September 2011 to September 2012.
Received donations were split equally, with ¥5million each going to the three prefectures.
President Murakami of Dreamlink, headquartered in Akita, explained:
“Growing to become what we are today, most of that was thanks to our Tōhoku customers. We had to do something.”
Inside, name cards from the three prefectures and traditional arts and crafts festively decorate.
The ample menu features various local specialties,
and nearly every local brew can be had!
As much as possible, ingredients come from the three prefectures.
The Recovery Support Bar Ginza was originally planned to close at the end of September as with the Sendai branch,
but with heavy demand operations are to be extended until the end of 2013.
Here and there, recovery wishes hang.
Enjoy a New Year’s party at the Recovery Support Bar!
